The Standards Department of the Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality (BBSQ) commemorated ‘World Standards Day,’ on Friday, October 14 — a day honoring the collaborative effort of global standardization organizations to bring about awareness of the importance of standards and quality assurance. This year’s theme ‘Shared Vision for a Better World’ focuses on the environmental impact of climate change and the role that regulatory organizations play in propelling knowledge of sustainable living forward, and making impactful change for a more environmentally-friendly world.   BBSQ held an exhibit on World Standards Day at the Mall at Marathon to promote public awareness of the importance of standards and quality assurance.   BBSQ staff, pictured from left: Marva Williams, Information Officer; Shabethany Sawyer, Standards Officer; Kellie Rolle, Standards Officer; Tamara Baker, Standards Officer; and Nicollette Burrows, Metrology Inspector.
