The Bahamas Reef Environment Educational Foundation (BREEF) held a workshop for young reporters over the weekend at Delaporte Beach.
BREEF Executive Director, Casuarina McKinney-Lambert spoke to members of the media about the initiative. “We’re holding a workshop for one of the programs that we run called The Young Reporters For The Environment. The Young Reporters For The Environment program challenges young people to look at the ocean and the land around them identify challenges and also think about solutions. And think about effective ways of communicating about what’s going on in the ocean around us. Obviously, were an island nation, we’re an archipelago, we’re 95% underwater as a country and what happens in our waters affects our way of life in a big way.”
Nearly forty students from various schools participated in the workshop.
