Nassau, Bahamas – December 13th, 2024 – BTC locked hands with the global community recognizing the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. To show our support, the company provided a donation [$1500] to the Bahamas Crisis Center to support their efforts and initiatives to provide relief for those in need.
Director of the Bahamas Crisis Center, Dr. Sandra Dean-Patterson expressed her gratitude to BTC for its contribution. “I am truly grateful for the recognition of The Bahamas Crisis Center by BTC. We respond to cries and stories of many abused women and children and this donation will aid us in providing the greatest possible support to these individuals. We provide a 24-hour clinic that helps women fleeing abusive situations and children who have witnessed or suffered abuse. So again, we thank BTC for this donation, especially during this holiday season.”
Gender-based violence is prevalent in our region, and BTC emphasized its commitment to combatting gender-based violence, aligning with its parent company Liberty Latin America’s comprehensive gender-based violence policy that includes resources and awareness, counseling, leave from work, free relocation, and legal support.
