The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) recently hosted a career fair for students at its Old Trail Road campus.
BTVI Dean of Student Services, Raquel Bethel told ZNS News that the learning institution fields calls from industry partners in search of potential employees everyday. “They are looking for people with technical competency. They’re looking for craftsmen, tradesmen, people with licenses, certification and we are in the business of producing people with that type of competency.”
Twelve companies were on hand at the career fair to meet with students. Bethel said, “it’s an opportunity for our students to be able to network with our industry partners and some of the stakeholders that are involved with BTVI programming. And so we’re just delighted to provide them with this opportunity.”
BTVI was created by an act of parliament in 2010.
