CIBC Caribbean has announced the appointment of Terrance Gibson as Head of Country for The Bahamas.
As Head of Country, Gibson will have overall responsibility for the bank’s operations, strategic
direction, and business performance in The Bahamas. He will also continue to oversee the
Director, Personal and Business Banking portfolio until that position is filled.
Gibson brings more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. His background spans
retail, corporate and investment banking, personal credit risk management and wealth
management, supported by a strong track record of leadership and performance.
In his most recent capacity, Gibson held senior leadership responsibilities across the region,
including oversight of teams in The Bahamas, Barbados and the Turks and Caicos Islands. He
has consistently led efforts to strengthen client relationships, drive business growth, and support
team development.
CIBC Caribbean’s Chief Country Management Officer, Donna Wellington, said, “We are pleased

experience, strong leadership, and deep understanding of the regional banking landscape

Gibson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from
Baruch College and a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
He has also completed several executive training programs, including a Senior Leadership
Development Program. His appointment as Head of Country is effective April 24, 2026.
