We know that this has been a long awaited project and persons on the island are long overdue for this service but we are happy and pleased with the progress that we have made in the past few months and even more so knowing that the project is nearing completion. Again, this means so much to us at the Corporation because we’re in the business of providing this service and know that we an extend it to the persons that are desperately in need of it is our commitment.”
Work is also being conducted in other locations on the island. A commissioning ceremony for the plant is planned for the near future. Isaacs said, “we are thankful to the community of Acklins for their patience in working with us. But more importantly, we are expressly overjoyed at the support we are receiving in doing this project. And so again, we look forward to that commissioning which we anticipate in the next coming days and we certainly are happy to know that we are making progress because we know that where we flow the country continues to grow. And so we’re happy, again, to know we’re able to be part of this process because in the Corporation we’re continuously committed to not just to every drop counting but more importantly that every island matters.”
The plant is being constructed at a cost of approximately $930,000.
