The Minister of Transport and Energy sought to bring clarity to a story carried in a local morning daily announcing that Bahamas Power and Light would impose a late fee on monthly bills paid late. A proposal that the government later said will not be happening.
The Hon. Jobeth Coleby-Davis spoke to ZNS News while attending the Progressive Liberal Party’s national convention. She said, “it was just a discussion point that was picked up. Not to say that that is full fledged where they’re going. I want to assure the Bahamian public that we are focused on bringing reliable and affordable electricity to Bahamians and before there can be any discussion of anything else I have to make sure that my priorities are in order and its aligned with brining relief to the Bahamian public and that’s where my focus is.”
