Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis and other government officials attended the second night of the 97th biennial national convention of the Church of God of Prophesy on Monday evening.

Mr. Davis addressed congregants saying, “we are beset on all sides by evil from unscrupulous individuals that continue to adversely impact us spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally and economically. As people of faith we fight for the protection of our families and communities and for the soul of this nation knowing that you wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, the rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places.”

The sermon was delivered by Church of God of Prophesy National Overseer, Bishop Dr. Franklyn Ferguson. He said, “the Bahamian people love Junkanoo but women weren’t made as a drum for Junkanoo. We’ve got too many nimble hands over women hitting, punching, slapping, kicking and all of these things, our women deserve better. And if you abuse women trouble is coming for you. What you’re gonna do when they come for you,” he said.
