Cordearo Moss of Grand Bahama is appealing to the public for assistance as he seeks to have surgery to replace both of his knees. He has been diagnosed with early arthritis and degenerative joint disease.

Moss spoke to ZNS News about his situation. He said, “I played sports, spent time with family members everything a normal child would do while growing up. I woke up one morning and I was unable to walk. I was holding on the walls of our hallway and from then my legs just became bow. I was often made fun of, mocked, called names such as crab man, cowboy, Mr. Crabs, a lot of names that fit the way I walk.”

Moss is a auto body technician and has been married for seven years.

Moss is working with Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Niranjan Nagaraja located in the Cayman Islands to assist with his surgery. Nagaraja told ZNS News, “we need to do a knee replacement using special implants which can correct both his arthritis and also his bow legs. This complex procedure usually costs higher than the regular knee replacement and also it is technically challenging.”

Nagaraja also said, “I’m very happy that Mr. Moss is showing commitment to get better and he is losing weight.”
