In celebration of the 109th Anniversary of the Bahamas Customs Department during the month of March, Customs officers marked the milestone on Sunday and paraded from the Smith’s Point entrance to St. Jude’s Anglican Church where they gathered for worship. Fourteen older living former Customs staff were honoured during the service which was followed by a luncheon.
This year’s World Customs Organization theme is, “Nurturing the Next Generation: Promoting a Culture of Knowledge-Sharing and Professional Pride in Customs.” The honourees were: Bernie Davis, Forrester Carroll, Llewelyn Parker, Merril Dorsette, Eloise Deveaux, Henderson Smith, Douglas Ewing, Wheatley Russell, Anthony Adderley, Hildred Clarke, Errol Smith, Arnold Simms, Philip Sherman and Henrietta Rolle.
