An awards ceremony was held on Monday at the William Johnson Auditorium to recognize outstanding performances by students in the Bahamas Junior Certificate (BJC) and the Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) annual examinations.

Minister of Education and Technical and Vocational Training, the Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin presented the awards and delivered remarks at the event. She said, “always remember that your success is not simply a selfish or self serving process but the some total and the collective outcome in which many have shared and that in all things give thanks. Your journey must build character ground you in ethical underpinnings and provide you with optimism and hope so that you may go on and do things which we in this generation never imagined, so that the world may mark that manner of your bearing.”

Among the winners were Clarence Dumene of CH Reeves, Noel James and Alexis Godet of St. Augustine’s College and Eli Sawyer and Danielle Williams of Queens College.
