A man was shot and killed by police on Dean Street on Thursday afternoon. His Majesty’s Coroner will be investigating the incident.
The mother of the victim, Marva Bain, spoke with ZNS News. She said, “they kill my child in the street like dog.” She explained, “all this is corruption in the back of my yard. One way in and one way out. They trying to get back in the back of my yard. So when I come back I said what’s going on. When I look, they say Marva come get your child, DJ dead.”
Police Press Liaison, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings was on the scene where she briefed reporters. ”The incident reportedly occurred around 2:30pm at the rear of a property. At this time I won’t get into the specifics of it no more than I can say they were conducting an operation when the incident occurred.”
The Chief Superintendent also confirmed that body cam footage is in their possession and will be used in the investigation.
