Dr. Jamil Minnis, gynecologist and son of former Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis, was charged, along with two females, with performing an abortion on a 15 year old girl on Habour Island. The group appeared in the Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Shaka Serville.
The group were later granted bail in the Supreme Court in the amount of $15,000 each. Dr. Minnis is required to appear at the Cable Beach Police Station once per week. The two females must report to the Harbour Island Police Station once per week.
Dr. Minnis was represented by Damien Gomez, KC, while the two females were represented by Attorney Heather Hunt.
