While attending the unveiling of the $600 million expansion of the Grand Bahama Shipyard, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, the Hon. Chester Cooper announced that the Grand Bahama airport should be completed by 2025.
Cooper said, “this will help us build more critical mass for the airport that we have announced. This airport will play a pivotal role in further growing Grand Bahama’s economy by providing enhanced accessibility to our island. It will facilitate the inflow tourist, business travelers and investors, and never mind the noise in the market, we’re going to break ground very soon, and we’re going to finish more importantly in 2025 as we’ve committed to doing.”
The Deputy Prime Minister said the government is “determined to sustain the momentum of investor confidence in Grand Bahama. We have a vision for this island as a hub of economic growth, innovation and prosperity and as we move forward our government encourages all investors, both local and international, to explore the opportunities that Grand Bahama presents.”
