Two people riding a motorcycle lost their lives in a traffic accident on East Street in the area of Calvary Deliverance Church.

Officer in Charge of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Traffic Division Chief Superintendent David Lockhart was on the scene of the incident.  He told reporters, “on arrival at the scene officers discovered a vehicle and a motorcycle crash.  As a result of that crash three persons, one motorcyclists and two pillions on a 150 Yamaha motorcycle, were seriously injured.  As a result of those injuries two persons were pronounced lifeless on the scene the third person was transported to hospital.  The single male occupant of the vehicle was transported to hospital his condition along with the one female pillion of the motorbike was transported to hospital.”

Lockhart appealed to the public to adhere to the traffic rules and regulation.  “We cannot emphasize that when persons are travelling at the night to ensure that you are adhering to all the rules.  That is that you have on your seatbelts, you have on your headlights, that you obey all the traffic rules.”

Forty three people have lost their lives in traffic fatalities this year.
