Residents in Rock Sound, Eleuthera seemed unaware of the 5% reduction in Value Added Tax (VAT) on unprepared food items on Tuesday when asked.
Eleuthera Chamber Of Commerce President, Thomas Sands told ZNS News, “even though there’s a reduction in VAT cost continues to escalate, cost that are beyond the control of anybody on this island, in this country. And so the reality is yes you’re gonna pay less in VAT on food products but the reality is I don’t see where the cost of food realistically is going to be reduced moving forward.”
