Debate on a compendium of bills aimed at improving the ease of doing business in The Bahamas and bring it in line with other jurisdictions will open in the Senate on Friday having gotten the green light from House members on Wednesday.

In moving the Bills in the Lower Chamber, Minister of Immigration and Financial Services, the Hon. Elsworth Johnson said the government was answering the call of industry stakeholders to remain competitive.

The proposed pieces of legislation include a Bill for an Act to Amend the Rules Against Perpetuities Abolition Act and a Bill for an Act to Amend the Foundations Amendment Act.

Senators are to open debate on the bills on Friday, December 4th at 11:00am.
