The government is set to acquire flood mitigation apparatus from Tiger Dam. The deal is worth approximately $1 million.

At a demonstration of the new equipment, Minister of Public Works, the Hon. Alfred Sears said, “its very effective and its one of the tools that we intend to use in the flood mitigation program.”

The minister went further saying, “the Tiger Dam will give us a flexible rapid response where there’s the ponding of water on our streets in certain communities that can damage people’s homes and furniture, we will have a mechanism that can be assembled quickly.”
