The Free National Movement (FNM) held a central council meeting on Thursday to ratify its candidate for the upcoming by-election to fill the West Grand Bahama and Bimini seat in the House of Assembly.
FNM Secretary General, Serfent Rolle spoke with ZNS News outside the of the party’s headquarters about what to expect from the meeting. He said, “tonight is a special call meeting of the central council. What we can expect tonight is to get a report from our executive committee of a recommendation for council to ratify a candidate for the impending by-election in West Grand Bahama and Bimini.”
Rolle also expressed the excitement of FNMs to get into campaign mode on the ground in the constituency. “People are excited. People are ready to go to West Grand Bahama and Bimini to encourage them to vote for the Free National Movement’s candidate. There’s been a lot of interest. We’ve gotten a lot of Whatsapp, phone calls, people passing by right now on the street honking their horns and letting us know that we have their support.”
Rolle said one person was recommended to become the candidate. He said the person had been working the area and that the prospective candidate has been preparing for this moment.
