Former Member of Parliament for Lucaya, Neko Grant has released a statement responding to comments made by the Member Of Parliament for Central Grand Bahama, the Hon. Iram Lewis.
In his statement Grant is refuting that he formed an inner circle after not being nominated by the Free National Movement for the 2017 general elections. He said, “the establishment of Nek’s Team Lucaya reflected the strong enthusiasm and dedication from individuals committed to the prosperity of Lucaya (now Central Grand Bahama). It emerged from a collective aspiration to promote positive change and progress within our constituency, rather than from necessity or desperation.”
Lewis, who won the Central Grand Bahama seat in 2017, made the statement about Grant after he resigned from the Free National Movement to join the Coalition of Independents last week in the House Of Assembly. Grant’s statement further explained, “the suggestion that I needed to form an inner circle due to lack of support is not only misleading, but also disrespectful to the many volunteers and supporters who have consistently supported me.”
Grant ended his statement saying Lewis could have contacted him directly for information about his team.
