Former Member of Parliament for Southern Shores, Leroy Major has announced his intention to run for re-election in the upcoming general election.
Major spoke with ZNS News about his decision on Wednesday. He said, “I’ve been working for the last five years. So I am very confident that I will be re-elected. The bottom line is I have a record to run on. The people in Southern Shores, they can trust me, they can depend on me. Even though you have some individuals in there who always believe that you are at their beck and call at all times. But overall, I live in Southern Shores. I have done some work in Southern Shores and the people in Southern Shores are going to give me another opportunity. And so I’m gonna give them the opportunity to either select me or reject me.”
Major who ran on the Progressive Liberal Party’s ticket in the 2021 general election was not chosen by the party to be its standard bearer in 2026.
