Former Minister of Tourism, Vincent Vanderpool Wallace is remembering the late Hon. Obie Wilchcombe who succeeded him as Minister in 2002.
Vanderpool Wallace said, “he was both a nationalist and a regionalist. He was a very strong supporters of my time as head of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). In fact, we often laughed at the story that the only campaign that I was ever in charge of was his to become chairman of CTO. I told him I’ll retire after that to keep my record at 100% success. He will be greatly missed by The Bahamas for his compassion, his foresight and his extraordinary oratorical skills. May he rest in peace.”
