Members of the staff of the Ministry of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting remembered their fallen minister as news of the death of the late Hon. Obediah Wilchcombe came from Grand Bahama.

Ministry Consultant and former broadcaster Dr. Debra Bartlett told ZNS News, “even though he has transitioned he has left a legacy because he did some groundbreaking things that of course we are going to talk about later.”

Barlett further stated, “Obediah Wilchcombe was no perfect, none of us are, but he worked on perfection. He was loyal, he was compassionate. I am standing here because he believed in me but my story is not unique. And so what we have gained is a contribution for the future.”

The late Member of Parliament for West Grand Bahama and Bimini was sworn in as Minister of Social Services and Urban Development in October 2021.
