President of the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce, James Carey commented on the economic outlook for the next year for the island.
He told ZNS News, “there is a good feeling in the air. Grand Bahama in the last couple months of this year and I expect that to continue. There are some positive developments. The government has indicated that they have couple things in their grab bag that are coming for Grand Bahama. The Port Authority have a number of things that they’ve announced in their grab bag.”
Carey added of the Port Authority, “they have confirmation of $1.5 billion and in recent days and talking with some of the executives at the Port Authority that figure has been revised upwards by hundreds of millions.”
The Chamber President said they are upbeat about what they are seeing for Freeport and Grand Bahama. ”There’s just no way that we can go wrong if the disposition continues as it is today.”
