The Minister for Grand Bahama gave an update on various projects on the island outside of Cabinet on Tuesday.
The Hon. Ginger Moxey told reporters, “the cruise is on track to open in the summer of 2025. And so we’re really excited about what’s happening with that. It’s going to provide so many entrepreneurial opportunities for the people of the community as well as new job opportunities. So we’re looking forward to that.”
The new Grand Bahama International Airport is also slated to be complete in 2025. On this Minister Moxey said, “we excited that we will soon be able to start the work on the development on this much needed new airport for Grand Bahama island.”
The Minister also assured that the government’s commitment to Grand Bahama remains strong. “The Prime Minister has made a point to say that we are for the progress of Grand Bahama Island. And so as an administration all hands are on deck to ensure that we get Grand Bahama moving in the right direction and that’s what we intend to do.”
