On Monday, December 14, 2020, Genesis Academy presented bags of Christmas gifts to Salvation Army Citadel Pastor, Major Carol Roberts and Youth Pastor Mrs. Karen Josey. The gifts were collected at the recent Merry Christmas Drive-Thru conducted at the school on the evening of Friday, December 4.

As part of the unique Christmas experience, over 450 cars drove through a Christmas village experience where students, parents and visitors were greeted by staff dressed as various characters associated with the celebration of Christmas.

The centerpiece of the drive-thru was the nativity scene at which students deposited their gifts for the needy. Each gift was wrapped and was age and gender appropriate to the child giving the gift. The students gave very generously and over 160 gifts were collected to be distributed to needy children by The Salvation Army Citadel Church, Mackey Street.

Genesis was proud to join the efforts of the Salvation Army in their concern for bringing Christmas joy to hundreds of children in need.

The gifts were presented by PTA president, Mrs. Miaya Smith and Principal Melody Hanna.
