The Royal Bahamas Police Force held a passing out ceremony on the island of Grand Bahama on Thursday. Family and friends gathered to show support for the 35 recruits of B Squad 2025 consisting of 11 females and 24 males.
Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Munroe was at the event. He told recruits the six months of training they received has transformed them from citizens to police officers. “You’ve endured early mornings, long days, survived the physical and mental training and personal sacrifice to arrive at this moment in your lives,” he said.
Commissioner of Police, Shanta Knowles also delivered remarks at the ceremony. She told recruits, “you will be the eyes and ears of your communities and the first responders in times of crisis. Serve with dignity, uphold the law without fear or favor, fight to protect lives with courage and skill and care.”
Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey spoke with reporters on the sidelines of the event. She said, “it an exciting day not just for the recruits, for the parents, for the police family in general and I know they’re going to make all of us very, very proud.”
Member of Parliament for West Grand Bahama and Bimini and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Energy, the Hon. Kingsley Smith was also in attendance.
