A heads of agreement was signed in Grand Bahama on Thursday between the government and Concord Wilshire for the redevelopment of the Grand Lucayan Resort.
During the signing ceremony Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis told attendees, “I intent to leave behind real results for the people of Grand Bahama – jobs, infrastructure, healthcare, opportunity and most of all – dignity. That’s what matters, that’s what lasts. What a blessing it is to be here with you today, to be able to come together to share triumphs rather than tragedy, every island in our country carries its own story but Grand Bahama’s story is unlike any other. You have faced economic downturns and the strongest storms in nature’s arsenal. Yet no matter the force of devastation when the water recede the people of Grand Bahama rise.”
Concord Wilshire President, Nate Sirang thanked the Prime Minister for his efforts in making the deal a reality and trusting the company with the resort.
Also in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, the Hon. Chester Cooper, several Cabinet Ministers, Grand Bahama Port Authority officials including President Ian Rolle and Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce President, Dillon Knowles.
