The vaccine campaign has delivered over 300,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Bahamians and residents across The Bahamas. This figure includes 8,734 booster shots.
At the close of business on Tuesday, 22nd December, 2021 there were 154,804 fully vaccinated persons in The Bahamas. This translates into 48% of the eligible population being fully vaccinated. These numbers include 11,038 twelve to seventeen years old, and 5,572 Bahamians and residents who were fully or partially vaccinated outside the country and registered their vaccination status through the online Foreign Registry vaccination portal.
Based on the projected 2021 population reported by the Department of Statistics and data from our vaccination centers; 43% of the males and 48% of the females in The Bahamas are fully vaccinated. These numbers do not include persons registered through the Foreign Registry.
To improve the rate of vaccination throughout the country, over the coming days we will be adding additional vaccination centres. These
centres will accommodate persons that need to receive their booster shot, first or second jab.
