Two men lost their lives in a traffic accident that occurred on East Atlantic Drive on the island of Grand Bahama early on Sunday morning.
According to reports a white dodge was traveling north on East Atlantic Drive when it collided with a black Ford vehicle killing a pedestrian and the driver of the Ford. Police Press Liaison Officer, Superintendent Stephen Rolle provided details of the incident. He said, “based on the injuries observed on scene EMS was dispatched. The examined both of the male victims and discovered no signs of life.”
The pedestrian was later identified as local athlete, Mateo King. St. George’s High School Assistant Coach, Calvin McIntosh spoke highly of the victim. He said, “Mateo was a special young man. He was smart. He was talented and he was very dedicated in all that he did. He was an exceptional young man.”
The other deceased male has been identified as Clifford Brice. One of the occupants of the Ford vehicle has been released from hospital while the other remains in the Intensive Care Unit. Police investigations into the matter continue.
