The dispute between the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas and Cable Bahamas over the live coverage of the Junkanoo parades has been settled. Representatives of the the Broadcasting Corporation, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, Cable Bahamas, BTC, Aliv, the Junkanoo Corporation New Providence and the National Junkanoo Committee met with Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis concerning the matter. This after Chairman of the Broadcasting Corporation, Picewell Forbes said that it would seek legal redress and to recoup costs and Cable Bahamas accused the Broadcasting Corporation of a breach of agreement.

The dispute was centered on a misunderstanding of broadcasting rights given to Cable Bahamas and Aliv by the Junkanoo Corporation. The rights of the broadcasting of Junkanoo are the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture which were granted to both broadcast entities.

Both Cable Bahamas and the Broadcasting Corporation have committed to avoiding this issue reoccurring.
