Commissioner of Police, Clayton Fernander along with senior officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force conducted a walkabout along Bay Street during the 2024 New Year’s Day Junkanoo Parade.
Fernander also fielded questions from reporters where he spoke to the safety of the parade. ”We had to arrest, earlier, for minor infraction, a small amount of drugs and disorderly behaviour, two individuals who was arrested and taken to Central Police Station. But the parade is going smoothly, no major incidents here around the parade route. The entire route is covered and as you’re aware we’re working closely with our law enforcement partner, the Defence Force. So that combination continue to work for us.”
