Commissioner of Police, Clayton Fernander and senior officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force made the rounds at the 2023 Boxing Day Junkanoo Parade checking on safety measures put in place.
Fernander also spoke to reporters about the safety of the parade. He said, “excellent, you can see thousands of spectators are here and I’m talking about visitors alike. We have the entire parameter covered. Even before you get to the parade you will see police presence and I want to thank the Commodore of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force who is assisting with his team as well.”
For his part, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Mario Bowleg said, “I’m happy and I always want to give thanks to the Defence and the Police Force who always stands out here at the wee hours and make sure that the Bahamian people are safeguarded and protected.”
