Urban Renewal and Bahamas China Friendship Association partnered to host a kite flying festival over the weekend on the grounds of Aquinas College.
The Minister of State for Urban Renewal, the Hon. Lisa Rahming attended the event. She said, “any time organizations come together and they want to give back to our urban kids and kids who we deem to be less fortunate, its always an excitement for me because then we do more when we work together. We’re stronger together.”
The Minister also spoke about the Bahamas China Friendship Association saying, “this is not the only thing that they do. Thye do exchange, cultural exchange, with adults. Bahamians go to China, the Chinese come to The Bahamas. And so this is one of the events they invite our kids and I’m so excited and the kids are.”
Over one hundred children took part in the event.
