Man fined after pleading guilty to fraud

A magistrate has fined Anwar Stubbs $5,000 each, for possession of a forged document and uttering a forged document, after he pleaded guilty to the charges.

Stubbs was also placed on 18 months’ probation. Meantime, if he doesn’t pay the fine or comply with the probation order, he will be sent to prison for 12 months.

The charges come after he presented a fake cheque totaling $80,000, to the Bank of the Bahamas.

The court also ordered that a $5,000 payment be made prior to his release  and that the balance of the $5,000 fine be paid on or before June 30th of this year.
