While the Vice Chair of the Petroleum Association, Vasco Bastian stated earlier this month that he expects there to be layoffs at gas stations due to the raising operations costs, Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis says he does not expect any fallout.
The private sector is expected to implement to new minimum wage of $260 come January 2023. The Prime Minister said one the subject, “the increase in minimum wage was not a unilateral decision. It was a decision made by industry under the tripartite council which include business, government and unions. So it wasn’t a unilateral decision so I don’t expect that there may be any fallout.”
