Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey today welcomed to the Ministry for Grand Bahama, participants in this year’s Teen Bahamas.  Eleven young ladies representing various Bahamian islands are participating in the event, which has made history this year, with the preliminaries being held in Grand Bahama. The finals are set for Sunday in New Providence.

Minister Moxey said that it was exciting to have the Miss Teen Bahamas participants in Grand Bahama, adding that Grand Bahama Island has been poised to become the events and entertainment destination of The Bahamas.

“So, we intend to see many events here which the Government of the Bahamas and the Ministry for Grand Bahama are going to support,” Minister Moxey said, during her courtesy call with the pageant delegates. “We’re excited to have you beautiful young women here.

“What’s so good about this as well is that we are also focusing a lot on Sister-City relationships and the islands of the Bahamas. So it’s good to see so many islands represented here today. We will want to work closely with the organizers to see what we can do to encourage more of these types of events in Grand Bahama. We don’t want this to be a one off.  We want it to be something that happens on a regular basis.”

Minister Moxey congratulated Ms. Chantel O’ Brian (Ms. Bahamas) for the work she’s doing with the young ladies in terms of mentorship and promised to help support her initiatives.
