The Minister and Minister of State of Education and Technical and Vocational Training along with the Minister of Works and Utilities toured the Jack Hayward School Gymnasium while visiting the island of Grand Bahama. The facility has been under renovation since 2022.
Works Minister, the Hon. Alfred Sears said, “I’m very please to see the progress. There are one or two change orders which have to be made but separate and a part from that the work is progressing well. There are other aspects of the works which are very long lead items such as the appropriate floor and ensuring that it meets the specification for basketball tournaments, international competitions and as you stated its a multipurpose facility. It serves the purpose of the school in terms of educational and athletics. It also serves as a community center for community activities.”
Renovations are expected to be complete within four weeks.
