The Minister of State for the Public Service gave an update on the promotions exercise announced for the public service.

The Hon. Pia Glover-Rolle said, “we have recently put our a call circular for service wide promotions that have been delayed for about ten years and we’re also in the process of receiving recommendations. Many persons, since we’ve come to office, have received letters. Its an ongoing process. The Ministry of Public Service works from a place of recommendations, as ministries send recommendations for promotions we process them.”

Glover-Rolle says that any promotions that her ministry has received have been processed. “There are still persons who contact me directly and say they’re still pending and as persons contact me or the ministry of course we research their files, if there’s resolution that can be brought in terms of requesting the recommendations from their ministry then we move forward in that regard,” Glover-Rolle said.

The Minister announced the public service wide promotions exercise in early April while appearing at a press briefing held at the Office of the Prime Minister.
