On Thursday, the Minister of Health and Wellness the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville officially opened the conclave in the Blue Marlin Ballroom of the Courtyard Marriott on West Bay Street.
About 70 people from all areas of the ministry who were in attendance, assembled under the theme ‘Precision in Action: Transforming Health With a Purpose and Focus.’
The opening ceremony was also addressed by Gina Dean, Director of Nursing; Dr. Philip Swann, Acting Director, Department of Public Health; Dr. Pearl McMillan, Chief Medical Officer; Mr. Colin Higgs, Permanent Secretary; and Timothy Munnings, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary who delivered the Vote of Thanks.
Dr. Darville said the promise for the necessary adjustments in the healthcare system is enshrined in the Davis Administration’s ‘Blueprint for Change’ and that this ministry is building on that foundation.
He noted that since coming to office in 2021, all stakeholders in the ministry worked relentlessly to address the deficiencies in healthcare infrastructure, human resources, and service delivery.
Dr. Darville said that the main focus of the conclave was for the leadership to network, maximize potential, share best practices, and work as one unit with the objective to provide the highest quality healthcare service.
