The Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, in collaboration with WaterKeepers Bahamas, launched their first planting initiative of 2025 on Monday in observance of World Wetlands Day, which is globally recognised on February 2. Students from various schools including Lucaya International School, St. Paul’s Methodist College, and St. George’s High School along with homeschoolers, local volunteers, and the Bahamas National Trust team, came together to support mangrove restoration efforts. In total, they planted 2,000 mangrove seedlings at Dover Sound, Grand Bahama.
