Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation and the Member of Parliament for Central and South Abaco, the Hon. John Pinder II comments on how Abaco will benefit from new weekly American Airlines flights from North Carolina.
Pinder said, “a lot of our tourism comes from that area so its really going to benefit Abaco having a direct flight from that region of the United States. And they are expanding in other destinations as well including Eleuthera and more. So they’re really seeing that the family islands are taking off and they’re going with it.”
The Member of Parliament also spoke to the economic recovery on the island since the passage of Hurricane Dorian. “We’re not 100% recovered from Dorian yet. We are exceeding expectations, particularly in the past couple years since I’ve been here in my position as Parliamentary Secretary of tourism. We’ve been doing a lot of not only domestic tourism events but bringing back international tourism.”
Pinder says his vision is to expand the tourism product throughout Abaco.
