The Minister of Transport and Housing, the Hon. Jobeth Coleby-Davis advises that people who are being charged more than the lawful bus fare can lodge complaints with the tribunal. This comes after some bus drivers have allegedly been charging more though a rise in bus fares was denied by the government.
Coleby-Davis said, “its been some time since they had an increase, we understand what they are going through and so we asked Cabinet to consider an increase and Cabinet did agree to consider an increase but there were some conditions we have to satisfy.”
The Minister says her ministry will plan public meetings to discuss the matter of increasing bus fares and other issues in the sector.
