The Minister of Health and Wellness, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville gave an update on a national vaccination program to combat Dengue Fever.
He said, “we reached out to the Pan American Health Organization to give us advice on the possibility of vaccines and based on what is being discussed we believe not being in an endemic area sort of excluded The Bahamas from a national vaccination program for Dengue. We also would like to notify the Bahamian people that our vector control program is going extremely well in New Providence and we’re now expanding that program outside of New Providence and Grand Bahama to our Family Island with specific focus on Exuma and the Berry Islands.”
