Approximately ninety young Bahamians were recognized as nominees of the National Youth Awards on Thursday evening at Government House.
The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Mario Bowleg was in attendance. He addressed the gathering saying, “this evening we gather to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our youth of our nation under the theme, ‘Youth Excellence Is The Standard’. We highlight the contributions of ninety nominees that have upheld the standard of excellence in respective areas of influence.”
The Minister went further stating, “it is an honour to bee a part of this medal pinning ceremony as we place you, our young people, on the national stage and display their exponential talent.”
Head of the Youth Division at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, Sandena Neely explained that the event brought together youth from across the country to be given nominee medals. She also said, “on Wednesday, October 25th at the Performing Arts Center at the University of The Bahamas we will be hosting the National Youth Awards in grand style. We invite everyone to come out at 7pm. It’s completely free to the public, red carpet starts at 6:30pm.”
