The Bahamas National Youth Choir will celebrate 40 years of existence in the month of October.  The celebration is being organized by members of the Choir’s alumni association.

Co-Chair of the Alumni Association Heather Hunt spoke about the black tie gala to be held at Bahamar.  She said, “the event styled ‘An Evening With Our Divas’ is dedicated to showcasing the exceptional Bahamian talent who started their musical journey in the national youth choir. This is a significant time for the Bahamas.  The National Youth Choir was founded on our country’s 10th independence anniversary and now four decades later we celebrate our country’s golden anniversary while the choir celebrates it 40th anniversary.”

The anniversary events are set to begin on October 1st and will include a courtesy call on Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis along with a monument laying at the gravesite of former choir director Cleophas Adderley.
