The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) has launched an investigation into the private plane, piloted by Mario Lamar, 80, that went down near Andros on Monday. Lamar’s wife, Lily, 79, as well as grandchildren Christian Sosa, 22, and Sofia Sosa, 28, were also on the aircraft.
AAIA Chief Investigator Kendall Dorsett provided an update on the investigation on Wednesday. He said, “at this time, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority is continuing efforts to gather information and evidence related to this recent fatal plane crash involving N212-ML. We are in continued communication with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force as their efforts are ongoing to locate the aircraft and any associated components. In keeping with international standards, the AAIA will produce a preliminary report thirty days from the date of the occurrence.”
The bodies of all four passengers were found on Tuesday, September 8th.
