The Officer In Charge of the Northern Bahamas, Assistant Commissioner of Police Shanta Knowles spoke with members of the media on Grand Bahama to give an update on the investigations into various missing persons cases.
Fredricka Bethel, 65, was last seen on December 9th, 2023. Also reported missing are Stephanie Chisholm and Elton Wright.
Knowles said, ”whenever someone is reporting missing our teams immediately go out and begin a search. Again we ask the family members, if you’ve not seen your relatives within a certain amount of time, don’t wait for weeks before you come to the police because we need leads and in order to do that you need to report it right away. And so yes we do go out and search, we beg the public’s assistance in going out and searching, we issue the missing persons flyer. All of that is in an aid to find those who are reported missing.”
Speaking specifically on the case of Fredricka Bethel Knowles said, ”I hope that we can find some information that can lead us to locate Ms. Bethel and I pray to God that she is in good health when we do. I do believe that at some point we will have some positive results.”
