A women succumbed to her injuries after a car crush on East Sunrise Highway in Grand Bahama. Also in the car was a young male who was transported to hospital for treatment.

The deceased is said to have lost control of her vehicle and crushed into a tree on Tuesday October 25th. Inspector Mik Sears of the Traffic Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force gave details of the incident. He told reporters, “EMS were summoned they found no signs of life. However, the female driver was accompanied by a young male adult who was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital.”

Witnesses who saw the accident occur tried to assistant. Edrica Martinborough was with her father at the time. She said, “my father and I, we came out of the vehicle and tried to render assistance anyway that we could. He and another gentleman immediately went and disconnected the battery of the vehicle.”

She continued saying that the child in the car came out of his car seat on impact and hit his head. Officials at the hospital say that the child is okay.

Inspectors Sears appealed to the public to adhere to the traffic signs and speed zones during the day and night.
