The Organization for Responsible Governance (ORG) Outreach Team will be on the ground in Eleuthera this month to conduct community surveys and focus groups aimed at gathering residents’ perspectives on development taking place on the island.
Through this initiative, ORG seeks to create space for open, respectful dialogue where community members can share their views, concerns, and ideas about growth and development in Eleuthera. The information collected will help ensure local voices are documented and reflected in broader national conversations about sustainable development.
The three focus groups are part of ORG’s “My Island, My Solutions” engagement effort and will take place in Central Eleuthera on February 21, 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Emily G. Petty Primary School; South Eleuthera on February 25, 2026 at 6:30 PM at Tarpum Bay Primary School; and North Eleuthera on February 28th, 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Center for Exceptional Learners.
Residents from across the island are encouraged to participate. A $40 stipend will be provided
to attendees, and refreshments will be served.
In addition to the focus groups, the Outreach Team will be administering surveys to gather broader input from community members who may not be able to attend the in-person sessions.
“Our goal is simple,” said Ari Wells, ORG’s Senior Manager of Outreach. “We want to hear directly from the people of Eleuthera. Development impacts daily life and community perspectives are essential to shaping policies and decisions that truly reflect local priorities.”
ORG remains committed to non-partisan, independent engagement that strengthens transparency, accountability, and citizen participation throughout The Bahamas. For more information or to RSVP for a focus group, contact Ari Wells at ari@orgbahamas.com
